Environmental Stewardship Award

Environmental Stewardship Awards are given annually by Big Horn Charitable Trust to two graduating seniors from Kutztown Area High School in Berks County and from Sullivan County High School in Sullivan County Pennsylvania.

Kutztown is where the Settlers of the Trust worked and raised a family, so a deep attachment to this community existed then and continues to today. Big Horn Charitable Trust physically exists in Sullivan County Pennsylvania and believes that a student from this community deserves to be recognized.

The Big Horn Nature Conservancy Charitable Trust Environmental Stewardship Award is a $200 award given to a graduating senior from each of these 2 high schools. The criteria for the award is a student who has demonstrated environmentally-friendly principles in the academic arena, and/or community-based activities, and seeks a future enrollment into a University or Community College to further their education in academic fields such as in Biology, Environmental Sciences or Sustainability.
